This is my first post on the Zoho forums, and I apologize for its extremely abstract nature and the length! Help Desk system does not handle Japanese text responding to support request by email.. It is Garbled. (mojibake)
Hello, I am having an issue where whenever the email system in help desks touches an email that has Japanese, it will garble the characters. of the email replies, acknowledgments and updates to the requester and the tech. Entering Japanese from within the help desk application, which then notifies the requester and the tech, the Japanese text is fine. So it is just when support requests are sent by email and the system then sends notifications. Any ideas?
View Criteria
I'm attempting to create a view of things sorted by date without actually displaying the date field in the view. I have attempted to add the deluge "sort by USER_DATE" into the view criteria, but it wont accept this. I have looked the the functionality-based urls, and do not see an option to specify sort criteria. I resorted to building am html view and constricting the table "by hand", which is less than optimal since all the filters are not automatically present. How can this be done? John M.

How can I add a "other" option to my dropdown list?
I have a dropdown list with 4 options. I'm asking people where they've heard about our company. I'd like to allow having an open option as well, allowing my customers to give an answer that is not in the dropdown. What's the best way to do this? Google App Engine Deployment Error
I tried the demo video process to create and deploy a simple two text field form to Google App Engine, and both running locally with the GAE SDK and live on the appspot.com deployment, the post operation fails with a huge series of errors. I am wondering if the App Engine has make breaking changes that have caused the Zoho Creator deployment to no longer work? Obviously it worked at the time the video was taken but not so much now. Any ideas? sleakbug

Display Fields when a certain value is selected/inputted

Hi all, Hoping someone can guide me on something i'm trying to accomplish with a form and a big picklist. Suppose i have a form that looks like this: Username: Day of the week: Pick of the day: The username is a dropdown picklist that has a large amount of entries, say 300ish. Every user has a pick of the day for every day of the week. It's only really necessary to do data entry for the information once a week. Creator CSV export should double-quote multiline text fields
If you export data with multiline text fields that contain line breaks, the data from the multiline fields is not quoted with double-quotes. When you import the data into Excel or other CSV reading programs, the line breaks will cause the program to think it is the end of the CSV row and start reading a new row of data. I right now have a app that has a form and a few views. I'd love to make the form public, and maybe one of the views. I'd like to make another view (that the public can't see) and the form accessible to another user. I wish I could select what options the public has access to and that it wouldn't be an all or nothing option like seems to be right now.

I'm sure this will be easy to solve for you pro's out there, but this layman is cornered. Seems simple enough, but I've tried to script this a couple of different ways and am burning the hours without getting any success. We have a 'send email' function that works just fine. All I want is to do is add into the function a second step of updating a field to indicate the email was sent. (change 'Email Sent' from Pending to Sent). I've searched the forums and wiki's with no success. Anyone?

Hello once more, Using the ID option is very handy. In the email notification the user receives in this way a personal nr and I can store that nr besides in the view for later reference. The number that Creator uses is very long, like 225749000000034400. Can I change it that it would automatically give another (shorter) nr like 08091000 and with each following user of the form the nr would be 08091001, 08091002 and so on? How to add a new field with an "if statement"

Can't delete form?

Working with Time
Hi I am trying to build a DB to record my runs. As there is not a 'time' data type that can cope with durations, rather than time of day, I have resorted to a text field to accept my times in the format hh:mm:ss. This data sorts ok in a form, but I cannot produce a pivot report to show me the minimum time for a run - presumably because zoho can't return the min of a string data type. Calculating time
Hello, I'm creating a web application to manage information from an Online Racing League and am currently having an issue tracking time. I'd like to have lap time data of the various races then be able make calculations against that data to get "Top 5 Lap Times" or position the grid based on lap times etc. I currently have the time entered in a single text field in the format of M:SS.SS so for example 2:12.234 (2 minutes and 12.234 seconds). THis works fine for sorting but I cannot use it in calculations
