In a project, when a work moves from planning to execution, the information teams need can change at every stage. A project can need one set of details, a phase can need another, and a custom process may require an entirely different set of information.
Layout Rules let users build forms that adapt to these changing requirements by displaying relevant fields and sections, making fields mandatory, or disabling fields based on the conditions you define.
Layout Rules are already available for Tasks and Issues, and are now extended to Projects, Phases, and Custom Modules, giving users a greater flexibility to tailor layouts across the project workflows.
Take a product launch as an example.
At the Project level, selecting Product Launch as the project type will bring up fields such as Target Market, and Launch Date.
As the project moves through different Phases, moving a phase to In Progress will display fields such as Priority, Owner, or Review Date and make the required fields mandatory.
For a Custom Module such as Launch Reviews, selecting Design Review will display Design assessment section, while selecting QA Review will display QA related section.
The result is a setup that adapts the form to the context, without requiring users to work through fields that are not relevant to them.
