DYK 13: Time log Restriction Based on Project Status

Did you know you can pause time logging when project moves to a specific status?

In many organizations, time is logged alongside daily tasks. After a project moves to a specific status, continuing to log time against it might lead to billing discrepancies. In Zoho Projects, admins can choose the project statuses that restricts time logging to ensure billing accuracy.

Consider a law firm handling a client's legal portfolio. Contract disputes and Vendor disputes are managed as tasks within the same project and time is logged against each case as work progresses. When the client temporarily pauses funding due to an internal audit, the project is moved to On Hold. The firm can enable this restriction to stop associates from adding new time log entries until the project resumes. This way, the client is billed only for the work actually delivered.
