How can I remove an email address from my account?

To delete an email address from your account:

  1. Go to accounts.zoho.com (or) open the profile panel from your app, then click My Account.
  2. Click Profile in the left panel, then click Email Address.
  3. Click next to the recovery email address you want to remove. (Note that you cannot delete primary email address. Refer to Troubleshooting.)
  4. Click Confirm.

Troubleshooting:

1. I can't delete my primary email address.
If your primary address () is the only email address to your account, you won’t be able to delete it right away. To proceed, do any of the below steps.
  1. Add a new recovery email address and set it as primary.
  2. Use a recovery mobile number: If you already have one, set it as primary. If not, add a new mobile number and set it as primary.
Once done, you can delete the previous email address.

2. I'm getting an error 'You cannot delete an email address hosted in Zoho' while removing the email address.
  1. Email address hosted using Zoho's domain, (i.e., an @zoho or @zohomail address) cannot be deleted, as it is mapped to the Zoho mailbox. As long as the account is active, the email address cannot be deleted.
  2. If you have hosted your custom domain on Zoho Mail and created a custom email address using it, you cannot delete that email address from the Zoho Accounts page. You need to go to your Zoho Mail's Admin console.

To delete an email address,
  1. You need to have another mail email address for it as alias.
  2. The email address you want to delete should not be primary or a login email address.
  3. If you're an organization user, you need to contact your administrator to delete your email address as Admin Console will not be available for you.
  1. Go to Zoho Mail.
  2. On the top-right corner, click the profile icon.
  3. Click Admin Console.
  4. Click Users on the left panel. (You'll find list of all the users added in your account).
  5. Open the one you want to delete.
  6. Go to Mailbox Settings.
  7. Click +Add to add an alias email address. (skip this if you already have one)
  8. Go to Security, click Login Email Address, then set the new email address as primary.
  9. Go back to Mailbox Settings, then press () icon next to the email address you wanted to delete.
  10. Enter password to verify and the email address will be deleted.
