User already exists in different deployment/region (or) This account already exists in different data center I troubleshooting - Zoho accounts

User already exists in different deployment/region (or) This account already exists in different data center.

What happened

The data associated with a Zoho account is stored in one of the data centers mentioned below and only in a single data center.
  1. United States (US)
  2. India (IN)
  3. Europe (EU)
  4. Australia (AU)
  5. Japan (JP)
  6. United Kingdom (UK)
  7. Canada (CA)
  8. Saudi Arabia (SA)
A Zoho account's data will not be shared with other data centers. Due to this reason, a user will be able to sign up using a specific email address/mobile number in only one of the data centers. Also, a user won't be able to join an organization present in a different data center.

This error will be thrown
  1. When the email address or mobile number you are trying to use to sign up is already registered in one of the data centers.
  2. When you are an organization admin and you try to invite a user who already has an account in a different data center than that of your organization. For example, if your organization is present in the United States (US) data center, but the user you want to invite is present in the Europe (EU) data center, you will not be able to invite that user.

How to resolve this issue

Solution 1

If the account is fairly new and the data present in it can be deleted, you can close the account and sign up for a new account in the desired data center with the same email address or mobile number.
Note: The new account will be stored in a data center corresponding to your current location. Learn more
If your current location differs from the data center where you want to create an account, we suggest you to go for solution 3.

Solution 2

If you don't want to close your current account, use a different email address or mobile number to create a new account and join the organization. Your previous account can still be used to access the apps you currently use.

Solution 3

Migrate your account from the current data center to the required data center. To do this, you will need to send a migration request to our Migration support team. After analyzing the migration feasibility, we will get back to you. Learn more about data center migration
