Add 2FA accounts
Note: This article explains how you can use OneAuth to add your 2FA account's secrets and get verification codes. If you want to secure your Zoho account using OneAuth, check out the article Set up MFA for Zoho account.
Using OneAuth's OTP authenticator, you can secure your 2FA accounts (accounts for which you have enabled two step verification) such as Google, Facebook, and Microsoft. Once you have configured OneAuth as an OTP authenticator for your 2FA accounts, OneAuth will generate OTPs that you can use to sign in to those accounts.

- Generating OTPs for your 2FA accounts
- Securely backing-up your 2FA account-secrets to Zoho Cloud
- Easy restoration of 2FA account-secrets in new devices
How to add your 2FA account's secrets in OneAuth
To secure a 2FA account, you need to scan a QR code or get an OTP secret from that account and use it to add that account in OneAuth. This account's secret will be used by OneAuth to generate OTPs, which in turn can be used to sign in to that 2FA account.
QR code or 2FA secret OTPs

Step 1: Scan the QR code or get the OTP secret from the 2FA account (generic instructions)
- Go to the security settings of the 2FA account you want to secure.
- Find the option to enable two-step verification.
- Select the OTP authenticator option.
- A QR code or secret key will be displayed.
Step 2: Add the 2FA account's secrets in OneAuth
- Download and install OneAuth on your device.
- Open OneAuth and tap GUEST. If you have a Zoho account, sign in with it instead.
- Go to the Authenticator tab.
- Tap Add new.
- Tap Scan a QR secret. Allow access to the phone camera when prompted, then scan the QR code displayed on the 2FA account's page. If you have trouble scanning the QR code, choose the Enter secret manually option instead, and enter the following details:
- Issuer Name: Name of the 2FA account you want to secure (e.g., Facebook, Google)
- Name: Your username in that account (i.e., the one which you use to sign in)
- Secret Key: The alphanumeric secret (consisting of or using both letters and numerals) displayed on your 2FA account's Settings page.
- Choose Folder: A folder to add the 2FA account. To create a new folder, click , enter a name for your folder, then tap CREATE.
- Choose Brand: The logo of your account.
- Your account will be added and OTP will be displayed.
- Enter this OTP when prompted by your 2FA account's settings page.
Once you have set up OneAuth with your 2FA account and enabled 2FA, you can use the OTP displayed in OneAuth to verify yourself whenever you want to sign in to that account.
