Add 2FA accounts to OneAuth

This article explains how to add your 2FA-enabled online accounts, such as Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and other services to OneAuth.

Prerequisites:

  1. An online 2FA account
  2. A compatible device (Android, iOS, macOS, Windows)
  3. A Zoho account for backup and recovery (optional)

OneAuth's 2FA Authenticator helps to:
  1. Generate time-based OTPs for your 2FA accounts
  2. Securely sync your 2FA accounts to the cloud using a Zoho account
  3. Export and import your 2FA accounts to the OneAuth app
  4. Backup and restore your 2FA accounts on new devices

How to add 2FA accounts in OneAuth

  1. Sign in to OneAuth
    1. Download and install OneAuth on your device.
    2. If you have a Zoho account, tap Sign in with Zoho. Otherwise, tap Continue as Guest.
    Info2FA accounts added in Guest mode are not backed up or synced to the cloud. To back up and recover 2FA accounts, create or sign in to a Zoho account from the Upgrade tab.
  2. Add an online 2FA account
            You can add a 2FA account to OneAuth in either of the following ways:
    1. Scan the QR code
      The following steps are generic and may vary depending on the service.
      1. Go to the Security Settings of the online 2FA account you want to secure.
      2. Enable Two-Step Verification or Two-Factor Authentication.
      3. Select the OTP authenticator as the verification method.
      4. A QR code or secret key will be displayed.
      5. Open OneAuth and tap Scan any QR. Then, scan the QR code displayed on the 2FA accounts page.
      6. Verify the 2FA account details displayed in OneAuth, then tap Done.

    2. Add account manually
      If you can't scan a QR code, go to the Authenticator tab, then tap Add new and add your 2FA account in one of the following ways.
      1. Upload QR image:
        1. Tap Choose from Photos for iOS, Pick from gallery for Android, or Upload image for Windows to upload the QR image.
        2. Verify the 2FA account details displayed in OneAuth, then tap Done.
      2. Enter 2FA secret:
        1. Tap Add account manually and enter the following details:
          1. Issuer name: Name of the online 2FA account you want to secure (optional).
          2. User name: Your username in that account (optional).
          3. Secret key: The alphanumeric secret displayed on your 2FA account's Settings page.
          4. Choose Folder: A folder to add the 2FA account. To create a new folder, tap the + icon, enter a name for your folder, and then tap CREATE.
          5. Choose Brand: Choose an appropriate account logo.

            We recommend you keep the Advanced Settings of your 2FA provider's details unchanged. Incorrect changes may cause OTP verification to fail.

        2. Tap Done.                                         
                  The account will be added, and a time-based OTP will be generated. Enter this OTP on the 2FA account's page to complete verification. To add additional online 2FA accounts in OneAuth, tap   at the top-right corner in the Authenticator tab.
