Dropbox for Zoho BugTracker

The Dropbox extension for Zoho BugTracker helps you access files managed in your Dropbox account and associate them with the respective bugs of a project, all from within your Zoho BugTracker itself. You can also easily disassociate a file whenever it is no longer needed. The administrators can even manage the folders in Dropbox from within Zoho BugTracker.

Installing the extension

The administrator can log in to Zoho Bugtracker and follow these steps to install the extension.

  1. Navigate to  > Marketplace > All.
  2. Search for and click on Dropbox for Zoho BugTracker.
  3. Click Install.
  4. Agree to the terms of service, then click Install.
  5. Under the General section, select the profiles, projects, and users you want the extension to be shared with or given access to.
  6. Agree to the terms of use.
  7. Click Install Extension and proceed authorizing your Zoho and Dropbox account.
  8. Under the Connections section, click Authorize. Sign in with your Zoho credentials.
  9. Click Authorize. Sign in with your Dropbox credentials.
  10. Under the Permissions section, select a profile. The selected profile, along with the admin, can manage the folders.

Associating Dropbox files to bugs

One or more files from Dropbox can be associated with a particular bug in a project. The members linked to that bug can manage the files, and can preview or download them when needed.

  1. Navigate to your project, then click Bugs from the left panel.
  2. Choose a Bug, then go to the Bug information page to associate the files.
  3. Click Dropbox in the Bugs tab.
  4. Click Associate Files. The list of files synced from Dropbox will be listed.
  5. Choose the required files and click Associate files. The files will be associated with the bug.
  6. Tap on the file to preview it in Dropbox.
  7. Click  to download a file.
  8. Click  to disassociate a file.

You can also associate files with a bug as attachments. To do so:

  1. Click Attachments in the Bugs tab.
  2. Click Attach Files, then tap on Dropbox.
  3. Choose the required files and click Associate files.
  4. Tap on the file to preview it.
  5. Click  to download a file.
  6. Click  to disassociate a file.

Associating folders from Dropbox

You can associate folders in your Dropbox account with projects in your Zoho BugTracker account. You can also create new folders in the Dropbox from within the Zoho BugTracker.

  1. Navigate to your project, then click Dropbox from the left panel.
  2. Click Add/Associate Folder.
  3. Under Add folder, enter a folder name.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Under Associate folder, select the folders to be associated.
  6. Click Associate. The folder along with the files will be associated.
  • Only the admins and the permitted profiles can manage these associated folders.

Uninstalling the extension

Once you uninstall the extension, the associated files and folders will be deleted from the Zoho BugTracker. To uninstall the extension:

  1. Navigate to  > Marketplace > All.
  2. Click Installed.
  3. Click Dropbox for Zoho BugTracker.
  4. Click Uninstall.
