Map type widgets are used to view google maps based live tracking location map, location history, or geofence maps on dashboards. The maps configured in the Maps or Geofences module are displayed for selection during the map widget creation process.

Map widgets can be added to dashboards to embed and view maps directly within the dashboard, enabling seamless asset tracking and geolocation monitoring.
- Live Tracking Map Widget
- Location History Map Widget
- Geofences Map Widget
To create a live tracking map widget:
1. Select Dashboard from the application's main menu on the left pane in the user application. The default dashboard is displayed in the right pane.
2. Click
Actions > Add Widget in the top right corner of the screen.

3. Select Maps from the type of widgets displayed, and select Live Tracking Map, then click Proceed.
4. Provide the necessary details in the resultant form.
- Widget Name : Name of the widget
- Map :The map which you want to display in the widget.
Note: Additionally, Live Tracking and Module options will be displayed for Module Specific maps.
Note: The map must already exist for the module. Else the message "No Maps available. Create Map from the Map Menu to proceed further" will be displayed as shown below. You can create the map from the Map menu on the left, and later create the map widget.
In the case of module specific map, additionally, Live Tracking and Module options must be provided.
- Live Tracking : On selecting live tracking option, GPS Location will be updated automatically.
- Module : The module in which the map that is being tracked. Multiple instances can be selected from upto 4 modules.
5. Click Proceed to save the map.
Location History Map Widget
To create a location history map widget:
1. Select Dashboard from the application's main menu on the left pane in the user application. The default dashboard is displayed in the right pane.
2. Click Actions > Add Widget in the top right corner of the screen.
3. Select Maps from the type of widgets displayed, and select Location History Map, then click Proceed.
Note: The Location History Map widget and Geofences Map widget will be available only for Module Specific Dashboards.
4. Provide the necessary details in the resultant form.
- Widget Name : Name of the widget
- Module : The module in which the map is created.
For example, If you want to know the location where the truck crossed between a set time period such as today, yesterday, or custom time duration like from 4.00 pm - 5.00 pm, you need to set using the Time option
- Time : Select the time duration for the location histroy data to be displayed.
- Grouping : The time based on which the grouping is to be made i.e every minute, every 5 minutes, etc.
Additionally, if you want to check if the truck violated any boundary setting at the above configured time, you can visualize that on the dashboard by selecting the relevant geofences.
Note: Monitoring using geofences will be done only when alarms rules are linked to the geofence.
- Geofence : Select the Geofences (if required).

5. Click Proceed to save the map.
To create a geofence map widget:
1. Select Dashboard from the application's main menu on the left pane in the user application. The default dashboard is displayed in the right pane.
2. Click Actions > Add Widget in the top right corner of the screen.
3. Select Maps from the type of widgets displayed, and select Geofences Map, then click Proceed.
Note: The Location History Map widget and Geofences Map widget will be available only for Module Specific Dashboards.
4. Provide the necessary details in the resultant form.
- Widget Name : Name of the widget.
- Live Tracking : This option is enabled by default, and GPS Location will be updated automatically.
Module : The module in which the map is created.
If you want to check in live if the truck violated any boundary setting, you can visualize that on the dashboard by selecting the relevant geofences.
Note: Monitoring using geofences will be done only when alarms rules are linked to the geofence.
- Geofence : Select the Geofences. The geofence must be already available.

5. Click Proceed to save the map.
