Configure Additional Parameters

Overview

Set up extra parameters to pass additional context into the survey alongside respondent responses. Use these to pass values like location, department, or campaign ID into the survey. Parameters can be assigned a direct value or mapped to a merge tag from your distribution service.

How to configure additional parameters

  1. Go to the Publish tab.
  2. Click Add New Collector.
  3. Under Invites by Other Services, click Create.                       
  1. Select the distribution service you want to use to send the survey, then click Continue.
            
  1.   Configure additional parameters as follows: 
    1. To add additional parameters, click Add in the Additional Parameter section. Select a parameter name from the dropdown list. If not listed, you can create custom variables and use them here.
    2. Assign a value to it. You can either assign a direct value to the parameter or select an existing merge tag. 
    3. Click Create Collector.

Zoho Survey supports standard merge tags as parameter values for each of these email distribution services. However, these services will all have more merge tags that you can insert in the templates by using direct value. These merge tags will be replaced with the parameter values assigned to the custom variables. For example, see the list of merge tags Zoho CRM and Zoho Campaigns support.
If you have only one question in your survey, you can enable Skip the first page if all the questions are prepopulated checkbox under Settings to prevent your respondents from getting redirected to a new page to submit their response.
