How to customize document ruler in Writer?

The horizontal ruler across the top of your document keeps track of the overall width of the page, page margins and hanging indents. You can turn the display of this ruler on or off, or change it between English and metric measurements.

Steps:

Click the gear-shaped icon at the top-right corner of the editor. A drop-down menu will appear.
Click More Settings. A window will appear.
In the UI Preferences tab, enable or disable Show Ruler in all modes.
To change the unit, go to the Preferences tab, and change the ruler unit.
