Auto-trigger for Screening Bot | Zoho Recruit

Auto-trigger for Screening Bot | Zoho Recruit

Still manually sending screening tests after every application? Not anymore.

With Auto-trigger for Screening Bot, screening now begins automatically. When a candidate applies for a job that has an attached assessment, Recruit checks whether the test has been completed and instantly sends the Screening Bot link if it has not.

No manual follow-ups. No tracking sheets. No applicants slipping through the cracks.

What’s New?

Previously, recruiters had to manually send the Screening Bot assessment email to candidates. Now, with Auto-trigger Screening Bot,

Zoho Recruit:
  1. Automatically detects candidates who apply for a job
  2. Checks whether they have taken the screening test
  3. Sends the Screening Bot link via email if they have not

This is powered by a workflow rule available under the Reviews sub-module and can be activated directly from Setup > Zia > Chatbot > Screening Bot.

How this works IRL

Imagine you are hiring for a Business Development Executive role and receive 200 applications in a week.

You have attached a screening assessment with qualifier questions such as:
  1. Minimum years of sales experience
  2. Willingness to work in a target-driven environment
  3. Location flexibility

With Auto-trigger enabled:

  1. Every applicant automatically receives the pre-screening assessment, if they have not already taken it.
  2. Candidates complete the test at their convenience.
  3. Qualifier logic automatically filters out candidates who do not meet mandatory criteria.
  4. Only qualified candidates move forward in your pipeline.
Instead of manually sending 200 assessment emails or reviewing clearly unqualified profiles, the system handles the initial screening layer for you.

Why This Matters

Auto-trigger ensures faster screening cycles, consistent evaluation across all applicants and an overall cleaner, more qualified candidate pipeline.

This update helps you move from reactive screening to automated, rule-based shortlisting from the moment a candidate applies. For more details, refer to our help article.
