Help your attendees find their voice with Zoho ShowTime's Open Mic feature.

Make your training more of a conversation by giving your learners the power to contribute to your sessions with the Open Mic feature in Zoho ShowTime. This feature is especially useful for remote learning, where trainers need to stay connected with an audience they can't directly see.

When communication is only one-way, there's less engagement. The Open Mic feature now allows your attendees to engage more by voicing their opinions during the session. When your attendees request access, you will be notified on the Attendee tab. As a trainer, you can choose when it's appropriate to let your attendees talk.

How it works
Let's say you're delivering a remote session and some of your attendees want to share their thoughts about the material.
  1. When attendee#1 wishes to talk, they will request access by clicking the Mic icon on the left-hand panel.
  2. When you see the request notification, click the Attendee tab to open the attendee list. You can see who is online, each attendee's engagement level, and which person wants to talk. If you wish to approve their request, click Approve.
  3. Attendee#1 will be notified that the trainer has provided access to speak. Then they can voice their opinion. If attendee#1 mutes their microphone and remains silent for a while, you can prompt them to talk using the Poke option.
  4. If attendee#2 wants to speak too, you can approve their request. By doing so, you revoke the permission given earlier to attendee#1.
Note: Only one attendee can speak at a time. As a trainer, you can approve, mute, deny or revoke their request to talk. You can also prompt your attendees to speak without them requesting for mic access. Your attendees can mute themselves and also end the talk request.

The Open Mic feature is now available in our ShowTime Viewer app. Download now from the Play store and the App store.

    • Measure your audience response - The ShowTime Way.

Raising one's hand was the ancient style of getting people to acknowledge a speaker. People clapped to show their appreciation and booed to show their disapproval since the Roman times. Even today, in many senates and parliaments 'yays' and 'nays' are registered verbally. But, how can one genuinely measure audience response? The solution was in the form of an Audience Response System (ARS). An ARS is a tool that is used to connect speakers to their participants. This helped in measuring audience
