Unable to Create New Contact from missed call

I have RingCentral integrated with CRM. When someone calls from a number that's not already in CRM I may want to add that number as a new contact. In the Calls module, when I click on a missed call, there is a + button next to the phone number. That brings up a menu with a Create New Contact option. When I click on that I get the error: No available Phone Fields to Associate.

It will let me create a lead, but I'm not using the Leads module and need to create a contact instead of a lead. How do I get that working with Contacts?
