Bigin app update - Android

Hello everyone!

In the Android version of the Bigin mobile app (v1.6.3), we have introduced support for Caller ID functionality. With this feature, you can now view contact details and access them by tapping the Caller ID banner, which will direct you to the respective contact's details view.

Information displayed within the Caller ID banner:
  • Profile photo: The contact's profile photo will be displayed if available; otherwise, a default user image will be shown.

  • Contact name: The full name of the respective contact will be displayed.

  • Company name: The name of the company associated with the contact will be displayed.

  • Deal name: The name of the deal associated with the contact, along with its current stage, will be shown. If the contact is associated with multiple deals, the total number of deals will be displayed.
Steps to enable Caller ID functionality:
  • Open the Bigin mobile app.
  • Select the 'Settings' (gear icon) option.
  • Scroll down and choose the 'Caller ID' option.
  • Toggle on the 'Caller ID' option.
Available preferences:
  • Caller ID: Users can enable or disable Caller ID for both outgoing and incoming calls.

  • Show Caller ID During Calls: Enabling this option will display the Caller ID banner throughout the call, unless the user closes it. If this option is disabled, the banner will only appear for 6 seconds.

  • Blocking Caller ID for Phone Contacts: Enabling this option will prevent the Caller ID banner from displaying for contacts stored in the device's contact book.

How to Close the Caller ID Banner?

To close the Caller ID banner, you can either tap the 'x' button located at the top right corner of the banner or swipe the banner left/right. Additionally, you can drag and position the banner anywhere on the screen for your convenience.

To be noted:
  • Caller ID can be accessed only when connected to a network.

  • Caller ID will function only if battery optimization is disabled.
