Canon EOS WebCam Utility compatibility

I recently downloaded Zoho Meeting desktop application with a view to conducting online guitar lessons with students.

I have a guitar interface and dedicated microphone through a mixer for audio, but testing video using Apple's built in Facetime camera on my iMac and Macbook Pro was dreadful.
Approximately one second out of sync and hand movement is very motion blurred (I believe their camera drops frame rate in lower light conditions)
I discovered that I can turn my compatible pro Canon camera into a high-quality webcam using the Canon EOS Webcam Utility. The Canon website lists compatible applications. Zoho does not appear to be on the list.

Are there any plans to work with Canon to make their app compatible?
Failing that, if I were to purchase an external dedicated webcam of better quality than the internal Mac one, would the Zoho app detect it?
