Cross Module Fields Merging between Zoho Sign and Zoho CRM for custom module

Hello everyone,

I've been exploring custom integration between Zoho Sign and Zoho CRM, and I've encountered some interesting findings and would need advanced help.

To integrate Zoho Sign with Zoho CRM, there are two primary methods:

Installing the extension from the marketplace -> https://www.zoho.com/sign/zoho-crm-zoho-sign-integration.html. However, this option is limited to certain default core modules, and custom modules are not supported.

Since I'm working with custom modules, I chose the second option. However, I encountered some challenges with this approach. Unlike option 1, when merging the fields to match the fields of your Zoho Sign template, where you can select fields from related module "Contact," in option 2, I could not. I could only merge and use fields from my custom module. Does anyone know why this limitation exists, and if there's a workaround to integrate fields from related modules?

Additionally, I faced another issue with option 2. After choosing a template in Zoho Sign, I couldn't prefill the recipient's name as the extension does automatically in option 1 with the affiliated "Contact". Is there a way to achieve this functionality with a custom module?

Ideally, I'd like to trigger Zoho Sign contracts from a custom module, merging fields from related modules (important) and prefilling the recipient's information, such as the "Contact" from my custom module.

I appreciate any assistance or insights into resolving these challenges. If someone with experience from the Zoho Team could help me, that would be great 🙏🏼

Thank you.
