Hello Zoho Team,

We hope you're doing well.

We’d like to request an important enhancement to the Deluge sendmail task functionality.

As per the current behavior, in most Zoho services (excluding Zoho Cliq, Zoho Connect, Zoho Mail, and Zoho Sheet), the From address used in sendmail must be either:
  • zoho.adminuserid,

  • zoho.loginuserid (if the user is not a customer portal user),

  • or a verified email address.

🎯 Current Limitation:
We've noticed that zoho.adminuserid is statically assigned to the user who initially created the first function within the application. This design becomes problematic when team members change roles, leave the organization, or when the application is handed over to a new administrator. As a result, system-generated emails continue to be sent from an outdated or incorrect address.

In our case, emails were still being sent from the address of a former employee who no longer works with us—causing both confusion and credibility issues for our customers.

Feature Request:
We kindly request that Zoho update the behavior of zoho.adminuserid to dynamically reflect the current application admin (or allow it to be reassigned through the UI). This would ensure:

  • Accurate and up-to-date From addresses in outgoing emails.

  • Better alignment with organizational changes.

  • Fewer manual corrections and less reliance on support interventions.

We believe this enhancement will improve the flexibility and reliability of email communications across all Zoho Creator applications.
