LMS Course

Do someone have an example how they use Showtime to give a multiple section course?  I see how doing individual lessons and can see how to make all the lessons I am looking for but how are people tying this all together?
I was planning on using Moodle and have it installed on our server but we have yet to start building the course in it.  I want to make sure that I can get what I am looking for in Showtime before investing time in creating the course.
