Tip #29: Upload files via email

Hello everyone,

We hope you're finding our WorkDrive Tips and Tricks series helpful.

For today's tip, we'll show you how to utilize the Upload files via email settings in your WorkDrive account.

As a Team Folder Admin, you can allow users to send attachments through email so they can upload files to a Team Folder directly. This will be helpful if you want your clients, or any external member, to upload files to your WorkDrive space without granting them access to your Team Folder or storage.

Toggling the Allow file uploads via email option to ON in the Settings tab of a Team Folder will generate a new email address for that specific Team Folder. You can then share the email address with your employees or external stakeholders, allowing them to send files to your Team Folder through email.

All files sent to that email address will be stored in the Team Folder's "Email attachments" folder. You can change the folder location later, if needed. It is also possible to restrict email file upload permission to Editors, Organizers, and Admins of a Team Folder, preventing external users from uploading files to the Team Folder.

We hope you find this tip helpful. If you have any questions, please drop them in the comments below or contact WorkDrive support for more details.
