The 3.1 biggest problems with Kiosk right now

I can see a lot of promise in Kiosk, but it currently has limited functionality that makes it a bit of an ugly duckling.

It's great at some things, but woeful at others, meaning people must rely on multiple tools within CRM for their business processes.

Problem #1: Cannot go back a step

Blueprint also has this problem requiring messy work arounds in order to give users a path to go backwards. If you're at step 1 or 2 and make a mistake, fine, exit the Kiosk and re-start. But if you're deeper into the process and you need to go back, there's no option.

I find it hard to comprehend how a team can come up with a tool like Kiosk and apparently no-one though "Hmmm, going back a step may be a good idea"

Problem #2: Cannot edit records in a list

This is a problem Zoho has had for a long time which is solved only by Widgets. If you have a list of data, there are very limited ways of editing records within that list, and Kiosk is no different. I think it's great you can GET a list of records and display it in a Kiosk window, but simply selecting the records is like bringing a knife to a gun fight and fighting with 1 hand tied behind your back.

Problem #3: No common windows/steps

There are PLENTY of business processes that require you to complete different tasks or collect different information for different scenarios, but eventually converge on a common path. Having the decisions is great, but if a business process converges on a common task, in Kiosk currently you have to duplicate that task for each path.

I can see that Kiosk has a lot of potential and could easily replace Widgets almost entirely with a few more features. They provide a drag and drop, low code, feature that combines aspects of Blueprints and aspects of Widgets, but these 3 glaring omissions make Kiosk an unsuitable replacement for either Blueprints or Widgets.

Issue #3a - Show results of code within the kiosk

Combined with the 3 above, this is the feature that's missing to make Widgets almost completely redundant. If we could run functions and send the results to the Kiosk, there are very few business processes that couldn't be designed and run within Kiosk

Kiosk has the ability to be the most powerful process management tool within CRM. I hope to see more features and more development on Kiosk in the near future.
