Tip# 12: Private service: Hide services on booking pages


A workspace booking page is where customers choose a service from the list of services provided. An example of service can be a product demo, requirement discussion, or any kind of meeting. At times, there can be a requirement where a particular service should not be included in the workspace booking page.

Zoho Bookings lets you set a service's visibility to private. This ensures that the chosen service is not visible to anyone on the workspace booking page. A private service can be used when you want to share the service separately with specific users or groups.

Use case

Let's assume that Zylker Consulting is a technology consulting firm that offers a variety of services, including workshops and training sessions on different IT topics.

They frequently conduct specialized training sessions for their premium clients. They want to offer these sessions exclusively to a select group of premium clients and ensure that these sessions are not visible to the general public on their workspace booking page. 

Using Zoho Bookings, they set these sessions as "private" and share the booking link selectively with premium clients, ensuring exclusivity.

Possible scenarios

  • Client-specific services: Businesses often have premium services that they want to offer selectively to a specific group of customers. By hiding these services from the general workspace booking page, they can have more control over who has access to their services and to whom they offer these selective services, thereby ensuring that services are tailored to the right audience. Examples: Confidential meetings, exclusive workshops, and closed webinars.

  • Internal meetings: If staff members within the same department or workspace need to have regular meetings, they can utilize a private service to arrange these routine meetups.

  • Service that doesn't fit the workspace category: If a workspace booking page includes a wide range of services, some of which might be unrelated or not applicable to all customers, hiding certain services ensures that your customers only see and book the services that are relevant to them.

  • Beta testing or preview: Consultants might offer beta testing sessions or previews of new software or solutions to a select group of users or clients before a public launch. These sessions can be kept private until they are ready for a wider audience.

 

Steps to set a service as private:

  1. Navigate to Services > Select a required Service > Service Information.

  1. Toggle the Visibility as Private.



    This sets the chosen service as
    Private and it will not be shown on the workspace booking page. Appointments can be only booked for this service when the service booking page link is shared with a particular customer.
