Tip #6 - Remove sign-in and sign-up option on booking page

Having a sign-up option lets your customer register themselves while booking an appointment. This allows them to access the Bookings customer portal and view their appointment history. However, based on the business requirement, target audience, and other aspects, some might not need this sign up process. Bookings provides the flexibility to have or remove the sign up option on your booking page.

Advantages of having sign-in options:

  • Customers can access the portal and view their appointment details and history.

  • Bookings forms are auto-populated using the customer details stored once they sign up.

  • Rescheduling and canceling is quicker from the customer portal.

Advantages of removing sign-in options:

  • Eliminating the sign-up option allows the user to make bookings as a guest. This may be preferred by some as they do not have to go through the account creation process.

  • Not all types of businesses have customers who have to visit repeatedly. For such businesses, a sign up option is not necessary.

  • Some customers have privacy concerns where they don't want to reveal their personal information.

  • Removing it avoids confusion for the customer.

Ultimately, it's your decision to have the sign-up option or to encourage only guest user bookings. Here are the instructions to allow only guest bookings in Zoho Bookings.

To remove the sign-in/sign-up option from your booking page:

  1. Click the Settings icon  in the menu bar.

  2. Navigate to Workspace and select the required workspace in left pane. Then click Booking form.

  3. Click the Registered Users tab.

  4. Deselect the checkbox labeled "Booking as a registered user." This will remove the sign-up option from the booking page and allow only guest bookings.
