Instantly refine your CRM dashboard using Filters and download underlying data – all in a few clicks!

Notes
Update: The enhancements mentioned in this post have been released to all users in all DCs.
Hello everyone,

Imagine you’re a sales manager overseeing multiple product lines across different regions. You're viewing your sales dashboard in Zoho CRM, which gives a powerful overview, but you often need to drill down to see how a specific product line is performing in a region or whether a key sales rep is performing as expected.

Instead of manually tweaking each component or switching to a different tool, you can now use dashboard filters to get the view you need instantly, right within your CRM Dashboards tab.

Let's look at how you (the sales manager) can use dashboard filters to achieve this:

The moment you apply the filter, every relevant component on the dashboard re-calibrates to show only that subset. Within seconds, you can switch to a different view of the dashboard as you explore, analyze, and come up with meaningful insights. You can clear the filters to zoom out to your powerful big-picture overview.

Component filters help you refine data for a single component without affecting the rest of the dashboard. Combine dashboard filters with component filters for flexible data exploration. For example, after applying a dashboard filter to focus on a product line, you can use a component filter on the sales funnel chart to analyze sales progress by campaign source.

Dashboard filters are filters that refine all relevant components of a dashboard in one go. This instantly aligns all the components around the immediate needs of individual users.

Note
  • Dashboard filters support time, user, and picklist (including Tags) fields. These fields can be in the primary module and related modules of any component present on the dashboard.
  • A maximum of four dashboard filter fields can be used.
  • Users with the Manage Analytics permission can configure filters on dashboards that are not locked for them. Once the filters are configured, anyone with access to the dashboard can apply them.

  • Dashboard filters are not supported for the Anomaly Detector component.

Download the underlying data of a component in a few clicks

Let's say you notice something interesting in a chart and want to dig deeper. Now, you can download that component's underlying data in CSV and Excel (XLS) formats.

This means you can go from viewing a component to having a portable dataset in a few clicks. You can share the downloaded file with your team or import it into a different tool for further analysis. No more waiting for someone else to pull that data for you or manually recreating queries in an external system, and so on. It can all be done directly from your Zoho CRM dashboard.

Note
  • The fields in the Excel file or CSV file depend on the columns chosen in the drill down view of the component. To learn more, please see: Drill down view of dashboard components.
  • This option is supported for the following components: KPI, Chart, Target Meter, Quadrant, and Zone.
The result of using these updates? A super-streamlined dashboard experience for your users where they can extract exactly the view they need and quickly move on to the next step in their workflow.
