1. In a nutshell
An event type acts like a template for booking multiple appointments. For example, a Product Demo is an event type, and customers can book appointments for it by selecting their preferred time. Each appointment follows the rules and policies you've set for the event type. Under event type details, you can set the duration, price, payment method, meeting mode, status, and visibility.
2. Feature availability
- Super admins and admins can manage all event details.
- Workspace admins can manage the event types of their assigned workspaces.
- Managers and staff can only view them.
3. Steps to manage event type details
- Go to the required workspace and click Event Types in the left side pane. The event types added under the selected workspace will be listed.
- Select the required event type for which you want to edit the details.

- Click the Event Type Details tab on the left pane. Here, you can view the below settings. To configure the details, click Edit.

- Duration - Define the length of each appointment.
- Price - Specify the cost for each appointment
- Payment Mode - Shows the payment method of this event type. This option cannot be edited. It sets to Online automatically, if a payment gateway is configured. If no payment gateway is configured, then it automatically sets to Offline.
Note: You need to configure a payment gateway to receive online payments.
- Payment Type - Choose the method to receive payment:
- Optional - Select this option if payment is not required at the time of booking. Ideal for appointments where payment can be made later or collected offline.
- Full Payment - Select this option if the entire cost has to be paid while booking. This is suitable for an appointment where securing a spot is crucial and expect commitment from the attendees.
- Deposit - Select this option if a partial payment is required while booking and the remaining can be paid later. Commonly used for appointments where a certain level of commitment is required from the attendee and the full amount can be settled later or during the appointment.
When this option is chosen, another field opens where you can enter the partial amount that should be made at the time of booking.

- Meeting Mode - Mention how the appointment will be conducted.
- If it is an online meeting, you can choose any one of the video conferencing tools to connect. The tools which are integrated by the admin will show up in this list.
- If it is an offline meeting, you can choose any one of the in-person locations added under this workspace.
- Status - Set whether the event type should be active or inactive. Inactive event type will not be available for booking. This can be used to stop accepting appointments for the event type.
- Visibility - An event type can be marked as Public or Private. If set to Public, it will be accessible to everyone. If set to Private, it will not appear on the booking page. Only if the booking link of that specific event type is shared with customers, can it be booked. This ensures it is accessible to the right audience.
- Zoho Assist - This option can be used when Zoho Assist is integrated. You can choose either Screen Share or Remote Support session. The selected session link will be created when an appointment is booked.
