An overview of module views
Your CRM system contains an ever-growing database of customer information, transactional records, product portfolios, and other data. If your users can leverage this data to make better decisions and take quicker action, your business has a higher chance of achieving the outcomes you desire. As you know, data in Zoho CRM is organized into modules; when you open a module, you'll see records in it.
Module views in Zoho CRM determine how records are displayed in modules. Users can select views that best-suit the task at hand, help them understand the data, and move quickly through their workflows. To do this, they should:
- Click on a module like Leads, Contacts, etc. in the sidebar.
- Use the module view picker to switch between different views.
Let's look at the different module views in Zoho CRM:
- The list view is a simple list of records in a module. It helps you scan, filter, and sort many records, as well as prioritize and execute actions quickly. For example, a manager who's looking to filter leads and assign them quickly to their team members can use the list view. You can use standard list views, modify them, or create your own custom list views. You can favorite them as well.
- The Kanban view displays records as cards in different columns. This is especially useful when you want a visual overview of each record's progress through your process and when you want to move records to other stages or categories. An obvious example is when sales reps need to move open deals through the different stages of the sales pipeline.
- The chart view abstracts away your data to help you spot patterns, trends, and performance metrics. It offers different kinds of charts to help you discern the insights you need. For example, if a sales manager wants to see how deals are distributed across pipeline stages, they can use a chart view.
- The timeline view presents a time-centric view of your records that's especially useful when you want to see and compare aspects like start dates, end dates, duration, and sequences. A typical use case is a user looking to identify deals that are moving slowly through the pipeline, how quickly deals have been closed in the last week, and so on.
- The grid view displays data in a grid of cells, which users can use to update records in the module view itself. This makes it especially suited for minor updates. A typical use case is a sales development representative updating the statuses of multiple leads at once.
- The split view shows different groups of records on a single screen. This is useful if your work involves comparing records, or if you'd prefer not switching between multiple tabs to work on data in the same module. For example, a sales rep can work with a split view of deals in different stages or segments.
- A Map view (available in IN DC; Last Updated: 11 May 2026) lets you view your records as pins on an interactive map. A sales rep on the road can instantly check which prospects are nearby. A marketing manager can run a local campaign around an event venue. A delivery team can visualize drop points to avoid wasted trips.
- A Canvas view is your opportunity to get creative. Using our custom Canvas Studio, you can create module views that perfectly fit your mental models or workflows. You can add style elements and advanced colors, and apply formatting and effects that go along with your brand's style guide. You can use three types of canvas module views: custom list view, tile view, and table view.
- A custom list view is a collection of records stacked horizontally that provides more room to customize record elements in a way that highlights important information in exactly the way you choose.
- A tile view enables you to arrange your data in a business card-like format. For example, if the record image is key to identifying a record, you can create tile views to view and scan multiple records quickly.
- A table view presents your records in the familiar tabular format. You can add alternating colors to rows and columns and stack your data in a simple yet effective manner.

- When you're in a list view or a canvas view, you have access to two additional views:
- You can use the sheet view to open the data in an actual spreadsheet, meaning you can leverage your familiarity with spreadsheets to work with CRM data more efficiently.
- Zoho CRM's print view also enables you to print out your list of records.
