Import data from Dropbox

Zoho DataPrep supports importing data from Dropbox, a file hosting service. Dropbox offers cloud storage, file synchronization, personal cloud, and client software.

To import data from Dropbox

1. Choose the Cloud storage category from the left pane and click the Dropbox icon to import from Dropbox. You can also search the required cloud storage services in the search box.

Note: If you had already added a Dropbox connection earlier, click the Saved data connection option and proceed to import. To learn more about Saved data connections, click here .

2. If you have added a connection already, click the existing connection and start importing data.

Note: Click the Add new link to add a new Dropbox account. You can create as many Dropbox connections as required.

3. Authenticate your Dropbox account. You will need to authorize DataPrep to access your files when you do this for the first time.

Note: The connection configuration will be saved for importing from the Dropbox in the future. Credentials are securely encrypted and stored.

4. Select the files you want to import and click the Import button. You can also select files from the Shared with me tab.

Note : You can also import files from shared folders in Dropbox. The shared folders will be listed under the My drive tab and shared files will be listed under Shared with me tab.

5. If it is an HTML, XLS, or XLSX file, you can click the Preview option to view a sample of the data.

6. If the file is password protected, enter the password, and click the right arrow.

7. Click the Import button.

8. Once you have completed importing data, your dataset will open and you can start preparing your data right away.
