Subform - Width

HI

So we have product subform on our deals so the sales guys can keep track of what product they are putting in.  I have been asked so many times if I can expand the width of the 1st "column" so they can see the full description rather than having to click the little parcel each time.... is it possible, I have not found anything that says I can??
