Create modules using natural language prompts

Create modules using natural language prompts

Hello all,

We’ve introduced a new enhancement to Zia that allows you to create custom and team modules in Zoho CRM using plain language prompts.

Why this enhancement?

Creating a custom module traditionally involves multiple steps—choosing field types, naming sections, defining relationships, and ensuring layout consistency. While the module builder provides flexibility, setting everything up manually can be time-consuming, particularly for first-time users or teams trying out new processes.

With this enhancement, Zia can now interpret your natural language input and convert it into a structured module layout. Whether you're managing client onboarding, handling service requests, or setting up an internal project tracker, you can simply describe what you need, and Zia will take care of the initial configuration. This makes it easier to build modules aligned with your business processes, especially for users who prefer describing their requirements over configuring field-by-field.

How it works

You can create a custom module using Zia from the following entry points:
  1. The Ask Zia interface: Describe your requirement in the chat (e.g., “Create a module to track supplier onboarding with fields for company name, contract status, and assigned procurement manager.”).

  2. The module builder: Use the new Create Module Using Zia option to type your input directly in the builder.

  3. The quick create section of the left panel: Select Create module using Zia for a quicker guided setup.

Zia will generate the layout that includes the field names and types inferred from your input, and suggested lookup fields (if applicable).

Once the layout is generated, you can review and refine it—adjust field properties, update names, add or remove fields, and configure permissions based on your CRM setup.

Let's take a closer look with an example

Let’s say you want to manage your legal requests process in a team module in CRM. Instead of building it manually, you can type:
Quote
Create a module to manage legal requests. I need fields for request type, submission date, client name, assigned legal officer, and status.
Zia will parse the request and generate a module with:
  • A field for Request Type (picklist)

  • Submission Date (date field)
  • Client Name (text or lookup)
  • Assigned Legal Officer (user field)
  • Current Status (picklist with suggested values)

That's not all. Zia goes beyond just creating the fields mentioned in your prompt. It comprehensively understands your needs and incorporates additional modules that are relevant to your requirements.

For instance, in the case of tracking legal requests, Zia automatically includes the picklist field Priority, which offers options such as High, Medium, and Low, as well as the file upload field Evidence File. You have the flexibility to customize, designate as mandatory, or delete these fields as needed.

The goal is to help you spend less time building structures and more time optimizing processes.
