Enable Sending Direct Messages to Self in Zoho Cliq

Hi,

I would like to request a feature enhancement for Zoho Cliq to allow users to send direct messages to themselves.


Currently, Zoho Cliq does not have the option to send a direct message to oneself. While creating a channel with just one member (the user themselves) is possible, it does not provide the same seamless experience as direct messaging. Additionally, custom functions do not provide a viable workaround for this functionality.


This feature is available in other platforms like WhatsApp, where users can send messages to themselves for note-taking or tracking messages. In such cases, messages to oneself work and look like regular chats but lack unnecessary functionalities like calls, notifications muting, blocking, etc.


Here’s how this feature could be beneficial:

  1. Note-Taking: Users can quickly jot down ideas or to-dos within Zoho Cliq.
  2. Message Tracking: Users can forward important messages to themselves to ensure they have quick access.
  3. Consistency: It aligns with how users interact with other messaging platforms, providing a familiar and efficient experience.


We hope you consider adding this functionality to enhance the user experience in Zoho Cliq.
