Tip: #24 Create professional-looking reports and proposals using page borders and watermarks

Creating engaging documents don't just mean whipping up good content. It depends on the way your documents are presented as well. 



Using Writer you can easily add the appealing factor to your documents by using different border designs and watermarks of your choice. 
 
Here's how:
 
Border designs

1. Go to More Options > Page Setup > Design > Page Borders and choose the design of your choice.




2. You can also choose the distance between the border and the text by going to  Border Properties. If you want to customize and give your own distance, you can do so by going to Custom Margins. 




3. You can set your border style, color and thickness by going to Border Properties




4. You can even choose to edit only specific sides of the borders from the options shown below.




5. If you want to choose the pages on which you want the borders to appear, you can do so by going to  Border Properties > Show Border on and choose the pages on which you want the borders to appear. 





Watermarks

1. Go to  More Options > Page Setup > Design > Watermark.





2. You can choose if you want the watermark to be a text or image. If you're choosing text, then click on As Text. 





3. Now enter the text in the  Text column. You can format the text as per your choice by giving it a color, size and font style.




4. After you're done formatting the text, choose whether you want the text to appear diagonally or horizontally as shown below.

5. Now if you want the watermark to be an image, click on  As Picture and choose the image file from the folder you've saved it in.




6. After you've chosen the image, you can scale and washout the image accordingly as show below.
