Tips and Tricks #43: Search files within a folder
Hello everyone,
Today, we're looking at an easy tip on how to search for files within a particular Team Folder, your My Folders, or a sub-folder inside these folders.
With WorkDrive's easy-to-use search feature, our users do not have to manually search through a long list of folders and files to find what they need. They can quickly locate files using the file name, the folder name, the file author's name, or a keyword inside the content of a file.
To make our search even more straightforward, WorkDrive now allows users to search for files directly inside a specific Team Folder or within My Folders. This way, your search results will get more accurate by further narrowing down your searches. For instance, if you are searching for your team's file, you can make that search inside your team's or department's Team Folder or a sub-folder within the Team Folder, rather than doing a company-wide search.
Steps to search within My Folders or a Team Folder:
- Go to your Zoho WorkDrive account.
- Select My Folders or a Team Folder in the left pane.
- Click the dropdown arrow next to My Folders at the top-left and select Search in My Folders. In case of Team Folders, Click the dropdown arrow next to the Team Folder name at the top-left and select Search in [teamfoldername].
- Type a keyword into the search bar. As you type, the top 20 matches found for the keyword will appear below. You can scroll down to see the files and folders found for this search.
- Press Enter or click the Show All Results tab at the bottom of the search results to open a new search screen with filters.
Note: You can also search inside a subfolder from your My Folders or a Team Folder. You can find our Search help article here for more details.
