Ability to Filter Alias Mailboxes in Zoho Recruit

Ability to Filter Alias Mailboxes in Zoho Recruit

Dear Zoho Recruit Team,

I hope you are doing well.

We would like to request a feature enhancement regarding the handling of alias mailboxes in Zoho Recruit.

Currently, when we connect an alias mailbox (e.g., jobs@domain.com) from our Zoho One account to Zoho Recruit via IMAP, all emails from the primary account are synced into Recruit — not just those addressed to the alias.

This creates a significant issue, as unrelated emails aliases on the same account (such as those sent to admin@domain.com or catchall@domain.com) are also pulled into Recruit.

This is not the expected or desired behavior — we only want emails relevant to the alias (e.g., jobs@domain.com) to appear in Zoho Recruit.

Use Case:

  • Our recruitment team uses a shared mailbox like jobs@domain.com for candidate communication.

  • If we configure it as an Organizational Email, our team can send from jobs@domain.com — but we cannot properly receive and process replies through Recruit.

  • Sometimes, emails sent to jobs@domain.com are not from candidates already in the system (e.g., internal referrals, partners, or new applicants). For these cases, we need the ability to handle messages through Recruiter Inbox (reference: Recruiter Inbox Overview) - And if we connect the allies account - any user of the Recruiter Inbox will have access to any email sent to the mailbox regardless of the alias.

Suggested Enhancement:

  1. Allow Recruit to filter emails by alias address, so only messages sent to/received from the alias are synced.

  2. Extend Recruiter Inbox to alias-based mailboxes, ensuring we can manage all relevant communications sent to jobs@domain.com — even if the sender is not an existing candidate.

Benefits:

  • Enables proper use of alias recruitment mailboxes without syncing irrelevant or private emails.

  • Provides recruiters with a single, reliable inbox to manage all incoming candidate and non-candidate communications.

  • Preserves organizational privacy and ensures workflow clarity.

We believe this feature would make Zoho Recruit much more usable for teams that rely on shared mailboxes and aliases, particularly in recruitment workflows.

Thank you for considering this enhancement.

Best regards,
Ram
