Read receipts in Cliq is here!

 This has been long pending! But it's finally here :)


 

We're thrilled to announce that Read receipts for Cliq is here for you all to use.

 

Read receipts allow you to know whether your message is read by the receiver. You'll be visually informed with a double tick when someone has read your message. A quick tap on the double tick will display the message read info in channels and group conversations.

In case of channels and group conversations, you'll be able to see the list of the participants who've read the message and the list of participants who're yet to read. To see your message read info, just tap on the double tick right next to your message. You'll see the list of participants who have read your message along with the message read time. You'll also find the Yet to read section where you'll find the list of participants who are yet to read the message.









Configure Read receipts

 

It's a pretty easy to enable/ disable Read receipt as per your preferences in Cliq. To do so,


1. Go to Profile & Settings > Privacy > Read Receipt 


2. Turn on read receipts by enabling the checkbox. By doing so, you'll be able to see who has read your message and the message read time as well.

 

  









Configuring Read receipts from the Admin Panel

Admins can mandate read receipts for everyone across the organization. To so so,


1. Go to Admin Panel > Organization > Configurations

2. Read receipts will be listed under Conversations module in Configuration & Settings.

3. Enable Read Receipts option (it will be enabled by default).

4. Also make sure that you disable "Allow users in your organization to turn off their Read Receipts" option.


By doing so, Read receipts will be enabled for everyone across your organization and the users will not be able to disable it. 





Points to note:

 

On disabling read receipts:

 

  • In group conversations and channels, you/anyone who has read receipts disabled will always be listed under the 'Yet to read' section in Message read info.

  • Message senders will not know if you have read their messages or not. Furthermore, you will also not get to know if your message has been read by the receiver.

  • You can mark important messages you've already seen as unread to respond to later. By doing so the message will be marked unread so you can follow up later. But mark as unread option doesn't have any effect on your message read info. Even if you mark it as unread, it will still be marked as READ and the sender will be able to see you under "Read by" in the message read info.

1. The above case is applicable only when the user has enabled read receipts.
2. Read receipts is available only in Cliq Web and Desktop App. We'll keep you updated once it's available on Mobile!)
