Introducing 'Previous' and 'Next' operators for enhanced date-based filtering

Hi everyone,

We are excited to introduce to you two new operators - Previous and Next - for your date and date time fields in filters as well as in custom view.

For starters, let’s say you want to filter records based on Created Time:

  • Previous 6 months: This will retrieve all records created in the last six months, excluding the current month.
  • Previous 3 years: This will fetch all the records created in the last three years, excluding the current year.

Next, let’s say you want to filter records based on Closing Date:

  • Next 2 weeks: This will fetch records that will be created within the upcoming two weeks, excluding the current week.
  • Next 1 year: This will fetch records that will be created within the upcoming year, excluding the current year.

These new operators will enhance the way you apply date-based conditions, ensuring more precise filtering.

Let's look at the difference between the existing Age in Days, Due in Days, and Last operators and the new Previous and Next operators:

As you may already know, Zoho CRM already provides several date-based operators like Age in Days, and Due in Days for filtering records. With the introduction of the two new operators - Previous and Next - there is now greater flexibility in defining time-based conditions.

Here's how they differ:

Other changes in the existing flow include:
  • Last week will now be Previous week.
  • Last month will now be Previous month.
  • Last year will now be Previous year.
Notes
  • In the last will now be Age in.
