Make More Standards Compliant
I have been trying to decide whether to use Zoho or Google Docs. Each has some advantages. Zoho Writer has many extra features but is not standards compliant on the generated html code. It would be best to follow XHTML strict coding and avoid deprecated elements. This will allow for better export of documents if later used in web pages. Users will also start thinking more in line with separating structure (XHTML) and presentation (CSS). So I have a few suggestions: 1) Don't use <font> elements as
Sending email
I sent an attachment, document, to an AOL address. They could not open the text. What can I do to correctly send an email that will open. Is it Zoho or is it a receiver problem ? Thank. Jame M
suddenly screwed up outline formatting
I just came back to my doc "2010-11" after being away for a hour, and lots of the (all outline) formatting is screwed up, with bullets instead of some outline numbers, repeated sections, html/etc hash mixed in to the text. I tried going back to a previous version but they all have it now. As i wrote in recent feedback, i think i'm pretty appreciative and tolerant of evolving bugs -- but this is the first time it's bad enough that i can't use the service if it continues! Table Deleting
It's very annoying to go into zoho writer and delete the several columns or rows of a table one at a time. why can't there be a option to delete the hi-lighted parts of a table
Saving
Cannot manually save lenthly document. But before that started, the auto save would pop up indicating that it was saving periodically, however, when I exited the document and went back in, none of the changing I had made before exiting were in the document.

Remove extension from "Save As" popup
It does not make sense to have the extension inside the "Save As - Enter a Document Name :" popup window. Because developers set the default extension, therefore there is no point in the user seeing this.

Backspace In Chrome
All of a sudden today, Backspace in Chrome is broken. If I'm editing a document, and I am not careful to only press backspace a couple of times, I wind up back-paging (i.e. as if I hit the back button). I know this is normal behavior if the edit field does not have the focus, but it does. FF does not have this problem yet today. I'm in OS X 10.6.6. Chrome version is 9.0.597.84.
Line Spacing
I am trying to change the line spacing. At present, the spacing seems to be double spacing. When I go into PAGE SETUP, PAGE FORMAT, LINE SPACING, SINGLE, APPLY, it tells me "Settings Saved Successfully," but I still have double spacing in my document. Is Change Case feature ever coming to Zoho Writer?
I work at a TV station and converting scripts for the Web needs to easy - but not as pricey as Word. I see answers in Notepad replacements like metapad - but those, of course, lack other needed things like spell-check. So... can Zoho help me? Google Docs still doesn't have it, and that would be a bit leg up on the competition!
font size, spacing
how do i change font size, seamlessley?? i copy in from microsoft outlook message and font size blows up. i dont even see an option to change it, let alone a quick drop down to change it, and would love a keyboard shortcut to change it. how can i change line spacing?/? when i press return, it skips a line.
Line Spacing
I am new to zoho writer - when I create a new document or either open an existing document - everything is double spaced. I tried changing the line spacing to single but still nothing happens do you know what I can do to change this double spacing format?
My tabs have stopped working!
In my saved documents, they have disappeared, and the documents which rely heavily on them are a mess. The settings show on the ruler but have no effect. Pressing the Tab key does nothing, though the key works fine in other applications. They show perfectly well in some prior versions; if I revert, however, I create a new version with text and all other formatting OK, but the tabs are not effective. Help!
Firefox compatibility and Safari compatibility in writer
Every time I edit a document and save it in either firefox or safari it changes the formating to something I didn't do. It is very messy. Any suggestions?
Problem with shared document
It seems there is a huge problem in sharing a document. When I open a document shared between four collegues the document is empty, when another collegue open the document it shows up as it should and when a third collegue open it he gets the content with a lot of internal codes. Can't share a document.
I've tried to share several documents with different people and they have all been unable to access the files. One said she didn't have permission even though I gave her read/write permission and the other two say that a error box comes up saying the file could not be found. Help please?

terribly slow, why?
I haven't logged in for several weeks. I use my account for small creative writing projects, and haven't had the time. But, what happened? I remember the interface being virtually as solid as a desktop word processor. Not anymore. It's terribly sluggish. If I type fast - and I do - I'm stopped to wait for the words to catch up. exporting documents in other formats
for some reason when i export my documents in pdf format they usually appear in pdf the same as the original. but when i export in rtf, doc and others the formatting changes, and I don't really understand why
unable to load saved files in writer
Using public library computers, and my own laptop, for several weeks have been unable to access my writer text files. browsers are window explorer and foxfire. screen just displays "loading" and never loads. last file saved was about magic jack. After saving, was able to re-load and further edit that same day, but no luck with any files since then. Tried compatibility mode. Made no difference. Do not care to try any new documents for fear they will be locked out too.
Line Spacing
The single spacing between lines is to large, it is almost indistinguishable from the double spacing. I even went into the "Page Setup" menu and changed the spacing yet it changed nothing.
Uploaded doc file suddenly empty. Lost forever or is there a backup? How to recover?
I uploaded a MSWord doc*, opened it with Zoho Writer, edited it and saved with from Zoho Writer ... this worked fine several times, but now the file content is gone, has disappeared. Opening with Zoho Writer prompts "Problem with server!" Downloading it as MSWord and opening it shows empty file. Availing HTML 5 in place of Google Gears for off-line features
The Google Gears plug-in (for offline Web Apps) is identified as not compatible with Firefox 3.6 and disabled automatically. This is to be expected, since Google has given up on Gears now that Firefox and others are supporting the HTML 5 offline Web App APIs directly. Will Zoho utilize HTML 5 and thus avail off-line Writer features for G3 Macs (lots in schools!) which are Gears incompatible? Keep up the great work! Jim in Queens New York

Issue with comments
Hi, Excellent tool. Well done! Just a quick pointer to one bug. When I highlight some text and insert comment on it, on exporting back to doc, it actually looses the original highlighted text. The words simple disappear. Though the comment still stays. Could you please try and fix this? Great work again and thanks for keeping it free! Cheers. Abhi

So poor quality of Latvian spellchecker - SO many generic words are not recognized, like "lūdzu" please, almost 10-15% of 100% correct text are red lines, that are mostly very generic words! where did you get such Latvian spellchecker tool? It is just impossible to write any text in Zoho Writer, means no use of Zoho, as Zoho Witer is starting point. So sad.
Using Writer in Mac OS X Snow Leopard
Just taking a look at SOHO Writer. It appears that the offline mode does not work in any browser on Mac OS X. This renders it pretty useless for Mac users, I guess. Pity - looks nice. Cheers, Mike
The New Writer: Put the document picker back!
Really? Did you guys really remove the awesome easy document picker from the new Zoho writer??? Now we have to go through the rigamarole of extra navigation to get to our files... Just like word. For crying out loud. That document picker was awesome and now there is just wasted space to the left of the document.
Review Tab is missing in Writer Remote API
Hi, the new menu tab you guys put in Writer is pretty neat. However, there some minor problem for us while using the Remote API. The Review tab is hidden from the editor. Could you show us how to turn it on. Thanks.
