Add BambooHR to Zoho One
Prerequisites
Roles required in Zoho One to perform this action:
- Organization Owner
- Organization Admin
Roles required in BambooHR:
- Admin
Plan dependency in Zoho One:
- Free plan
In BambooHR:
- Log in to your BambooHR account.
- Click the My Account icon in the bottom-left corner and click API Keys.
- As an API key generated in BambooHR can only be used once, to create a new one, click Add New Key.
- Enter an API Key Name and click Generate Key.
- Copy the generated key, as you will need to paste it during the BambooHR configuration in Zoho One.
- Click Done, once you have copied the key.
The steps to add bambooHR to Zoho One vary between the three User Interface versions
supported in Zoho One. Select the UI version that you use from the tabs
below and proceed with the steps that follow.
In Zoho One:

One Experience UI
- Sign in to Zoho One, then click the Admin Panel icon
in the top-right corner.
- Click User Management on the left menu.
- Go to Directory Stores, then click Add Directory.
- Click Add next to BambooHR.
- On the API Integration page, enter the domain name and the API key copied from your BambooHR account.
For example, if your login URL is "https://mycompany.bamboohr.com", then your BambooHR company's domain name is 'mycompany'. - Click Next.
- Map the fields available in Zoho One to the fields available in BambooHR. Learn more about field mapping
- Click Save and Next.
- In the General Settings section, under Mail Notification, you can choose whether users and admins can receive email notifications related to this integration. These mails include workflow notifications, user invitation mails, app account access notifications, delete/deactivate notifications, and conditional assignment notifications. - If Notify via mail is selected, the Password Notification section appears, where you can choose how newly synced users will receive their one-time password.
Password Notification setting is only available to users' whose email address has a verified domain name. If you want to include users whose email address is from an unverified domain, then verify the domain and come back to continue. - Under the Status Sync section, choose what should happen in Zoho One when users get activated, deactivated, and deleted in the required store.
- Click Save and Next.
- Choose how you want to sync users from BambooHR. You can either sync all the users or a few users based on criteria in Zoho One. You can use custom attributes to set criteria. You can also set multiple criteria based on your needs using the + icon. Learn more about configuring Criteria
- Click Save and Next.
- Enable Schedule Sync to import users from BambooHR automatically at a specified time interval. Choose whether the sync should run on a Daily, Weekly, or Monthly basis, and set the preferred time. Learn more about Schedule sync
- Click Save and close.
- Under IMPORT USERS, all users (except deleted users) will be fetched and shown depending on the chosen criteria. Select the required users and click Import. The import summary will be displayed upon completion, click Finish. If you select more than 200 users, users will be staged, and it might take time to list the users.
- Once imported, you can view the users' list in the Members menu.
Make sure to authenticate this page without any errors.
If
your custom attribute in BambooHR is "test value", you should enter the
value with a prefix custom and without any spaces. As per the format,
the input value is customtestvalue.
The Import Users lets you manually sync users at any time, whereas the Schedule Sync automates the process by running user syncs at scheduled
intervals.

- Sign in to Zoho One, then click the Directory Settings icon
in the top-right corner.
- Click User Management on the left menu.
