Allow Regular Users to Directly Transfer Ownership of Files & Folders

Hi Zoho WorkDrive Team,
Hope you are doing well.

We would like to request an important enhancement related to file and folder ownership management in Zoho WorkDrive.

At the moment, a regular user cannot directly transfer ownership of their files or folders to another user. The only workaround involves a very cumbersome process: Creating a Team Folder -> Adding the intended user as an admin -> Using the Admin Console to transfer ownership through the Team Folder

This method is quite complex, requires admin involvement, and is not practical for everyday use.

Feature Request:
Please add a simple, built-in option that allows any user to directly transfer ownership of their files or folders to another member in the organization - without needing to create a Team Folder or involve administrators.

Why this is needed?
  1. Makes file handover seamless when employees change roles or responsibilities
  2. Avoids unnecessary dependence on admins for a basic operation
  3. Encourages smoother collaboration within WorkDrive
  4. Helps teams stay organized without complex workarounds

A straightforward “Transfer Ownership” option would significantly improve usability and reduce operational overhead.

We would truly appreciate it if this enhancement could be considered in the WorkDrive roadmap.
