Knowing People has its perks, even on Cliq.

Have you ever been in a situation where your boss tells you to contact Emma for getting help with a piece of code that you are working on, but you don't really know who Emma is. And then starts an endless cycle of asking around to find Emma, the developer.

On way you find an Emma Margaret from finance department, befriend Emma Lynn from sales department, and then you finally find a Jane Emma who's a developer, but wait no! That's not the end because she is not the Emma you've been looking for. 

Yup, we've all been there from time to time, trying to find the right person. Imagine finding the right Emma among our Zoho employees of 7k, phew... To address this we integrated Zoho People with Cliq, wherein all info like departments, reporting members, seating location, mobile, extension and employee id will be searchable on Cliq.

You can now find a user by their team, designation, mobile number, email id or even through their reporting person in Cliq search bar. And also In/Out status will be displayed next to the name when you look them up, a very useful one!

In our case, you can simply type Emma in the search bar and narrow down the results based on designation and team.

Tip: Search and select a department to get list of all members belonging to that department.




A quick view.
Just click on a username either in chat window or in left sidebar. A small pop-up will appear with a brief info about the user.
 


Hint: If the user is unavailable to take a message, just click on the last icon (next to video call) in the hover box. That's the profile icon and will open the user's profile on screen where you can click on the Department name, look at other available users in that team and convey your message to one of them!

Know them right!
Mention the right user in your chats with the help of team and designation displayed in the mention suggestions.




To implement this in your organization, you just have to ensure that the users are present both in Cliq and in Zoho People. In your People portal, under Organization in left sidebar configure Departments and Employees. The details you configure under Employees is the info that will be displayed in Cliq.

If you already have a People portal, then the new details you configure for your employees will be available in Cliq on a page refresh. Whereas if you are creating a new People portal, then it might take a maximum of 24 hours for the details to be displayed in Cliq.
