New in CPQ: Smarter suggestions for Product Configurator by Zia, and additional criteria in Price Rules

CPQ's Product Configurator in Zoho CRM allows sales teams to define structured product bundles through configuration rules, ensuring that the right product combinations are applied consistently in quotes. Admins set up these configurations manually by determining the product rules and associations, which required time and effort.

With our latest enhancement, Zia automates this process by analyzing historical sales data and identifying the most frequently used product combinations. Instead of manually setting up new configuration rules, Zia recommends optimal product configurations based on quoting patterns. This ensures that businesses can adapt to changing sales trends more efficiently.

Here's how it works:
  1. Zia analyzes past quotes to identify frequently paired products, highlighting strong purchasing patterns.
  2. Shows how often customers have chosen suggested product combinations, offering better visibility into popular choices.
  3. Once enough quotes are created, recommendations are enabled automatically. Users will also be notified in the Zia panel when new suggestions are available.


  4. Suggested rules are initially disabled. Users can review, rename, and modify them before activation. Once enabled, they function like any other CPQ rule.

Managing the recommendations
  1. Recommendations can be activated, modified, or discarded as needed.
  2. If disabled via the system recommendations toggle, all suggested rules will be removed.

Points to be noted:
  1. Zia refreshes recommendations every 15 days based on updated quote patterns.
  2. A maximum of 10 recommendations will be available at a time.

Additional Criteria options for Price Rules

Alongside the Zia suggestions for product configurator, you'll now have options in price rules for setting additional criteria for the selected products or services.

Let’s say you’ve added Zylker Earphones to a price rule. You can now tell the system to apply that rule only when the quoted Quantity is 2 or more, the Discount field is not empty, and the Product Category is Electronics (as shown in the screenshot). You can add these conditions for the product and control how they’re combined in the Criteria Pattern section.

This way, the price rule is triggered only for the exact line items that match your conditions, instead of every quote that simply includes that product.
