Tip of the week #10: Create an all-day event/ multi-day event.
We use our online calendars every day to create and add events to our schedule. What will we do if an event lasts all day or several days? Adding such events by specifying start and end times in the same way we would for a regular meeting or event will cover the calendar grid with only that event. This will make it difficult to add any additional events on that day.
You can use the All-day option in Zoho Calendar to create an event that occurs throughout the day or over multiple days. Instead of the full grid, the created event will be displayed on top of the specific days in the calendar grid. All-day events
To quickly create an all-day event in Zoho Calendar, you can use any of the methods listed below, based on the Calendar View that is picked for the calendar grid;
- Day, Week or Work views - Click on the calendar grid where the date and day are specified. Provide the event details in the Quick Add pop-up and click Save.
- Month, 2 Months or 3 Months views - Click on a preferred day on the calendar grid. Provide the event details in the Quick Add pop-up and click Save.
- Year view - When you click on a particular date from any month, the Day view of the chosen date will be displayed and the event can created as said above for the Day view.
You can click on the More options button at the bottom of the Quick Add pop-up to open the detailed Create event tab to add more details to the event. Learn more.Multi-day events
For events that stretch over multiple days, follow any of the methods given below to create a multi-day event depending on the Calendar View that is picked for the calendar grid.
- Week or Work views - Click on the calendar grid where the date and day are specified. Click and drag for the preferred number of days. Provide the event details in the Quick Add pop-up and click Save.
- Month, 2 Months or 3 Months views - Click and drag on the preferred days of the month on the calendar grid. Provide the event details in the Quick Add pop-up and click Save.
The multi-day event will be created and added to your calendar grid. The created event will be displayed across dates in the calendar grid by a color band based on the event color chosen along with event title.
