Tips and Tricks #40: Find and add YouTube videos to your slide from within Show

Hi Everyone!

When using the right videos in a presentation, you can easily capture your audience's attention and help them connect with your message. This is useful especially when you want to explain any complex concept. For example, you can use a video to explain any workflow or demonstrate a process rather than a static visual or lengthy text.

The Show add-on for YouTube helps you easily find and insert videos into your presentation right from the Show application. This eliminates the need for you to toggle between your Show window and YouTube, and also makes it easier to play a video during your presentation.

Using the YouTube add-on for Show, you can sign in to your YouTube account and pick videos from the Home, Playlists, and Liked sections. You can also sign in as a different user, if needed.

To insert a YouTube video in Show:
  1. Open the presentation in Show and click AddOns in the top bar.
  2. Click Addon Store button under AddOns and install YouTube for Zoho Show.
  3. Click Authenticate YouTube and sign in to your YouTube account.
  4. Search for and select the video you want to add on to the slide.
  5. Click the Plus icon in the bottom-right corner of the video to insert it into the slide.

Additionally, Show supports over 30 types of external links to help you include videos in your presentation from different sites without having to download and embed them separately. This way, you can save time and effort looking for relevant videos to include.

To insert a video from an external link in Show:
  1. Open the presentation in Show and click AddOns in the top bar.
  2. Click Click here option under Embed code to view the list of supported links and pick a video from one of the sites.
  3. Copy the embed code of that video and paste it into the text field under Embed code.
  4. Click the Plus icon it the bottom-right corner of the text area to embed the video into the slide.

Tip: You can also use videos to play sound effects to enhance or support your message in the presentation.

For example, if you are explaining some positive statistical data in the form of a graph or table, you can play an inspiring music like Uplifting Acoustic to show your audience this is exciting data.

However, remember that the audio should only complement and not overpower your speech during the session.

Once the video appears on the slide, you can edit its dimensions so that it fits well within the slide. You can further enable the switches under Video Options to play the video automatically or in a loop.

You can also apply a stroke or shadow effect to the videos in your presentation to enhance its visual appeal.
