We are absolutely thrilled to announce the release of Workflow APIs and Actions APIs in Zoho CRM’s v8 API suite! This powerful new set of endpoints gives developers unprecedented programmatic control over business automation.
For years, Workflow Rules have been the backbone of automation in Zoho CRM, helping businesses streamline processes, reduce manual tasks, and ensure consistency. Now, with the release of these APIs, you can manage these automations programmatically.
What’s new?
Now you can completely manage Workflow Rules through APIs:
Retrieve details of an individual workflow rule or all workflow rules in your CRM org.
Access workflow rule configuration metadata via the Workflow Rule Configuration API, which gives you crucial details like what triggers are supported for a module and the supported actions for each trigger.
Reorder workflows to control execution priority.
Delete workflows that are no longer relevant.
Get insights into workflow limits and module-wise counts of Workflow Rules configured in your CRM.
Get detailed usage reports for any workflow rule with the new Workflow Rule Usage Reports API. Track how many times a workflow was triggered and view the success or failure metrics for each action within a specified date range.
A workflow is only as powerful as the actions it performs. They define what happens when a workflow rule is triggered. This release also unlocks programmatic management of the specific actions the you use within your workflows.
With the new Actions APIs, you can configure and manage different Actions:
Field Updates — Get, Create, Update, Delete
But that is not all for Actions APIs. We have also rolled out a few new APIs to help you monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot your automations more effectively:
Actions usage APIs: Now you can get the usage reports for Webhooks and Email Notification actions to monitor their performance.
Get Webhooks associated modules: With this API, you can easily figure out which modules your Webhooks are configured for.
Webhooks Failure Report: Drill down into the specifics with a dedicated API to fetch the failure report for your webhook actions.
With these new Workflow and Actions APIs, you can take complete control of automation in Zoho CRM. To help you get started immediately, we have updated our official Postman collection with all the new Workflow and Actions APIs. Fork the collection and start testing these new endpoints right away.
We are incredibly proud to deliver this functionality that so many of you have asked for. Share your feedback and concerns with us on the Zoho Developer Forum, or write to us at support@zohocrm.com.
