Zoho Projects - Q2 Updates | 2025

Hello Users,

With this year's second quarter behind us, Zoho Projects is marching towards expanding its usability with a user-centered, more collaborative, customizable, and automated attribute.
But before we chart out plans for what’s next, it’s worth reflecting on the advancements we’ve already achieved. Here is a highlight of Zoho Projects' progress in Q2.
  • Import from JIRA
This enhancement enables users to import bugs from Jira Cloud or Jira Server (self-hosted) as tasks into Zoho Projects to manage tasks without interruption. Read more

  • Task Scheduled Export
Task Export was previously a manual process but last quarter we made scheduling exports possible. Now, users can export tasks with specific task views, formats, and filters. They can also set the export to repeat once, daily, weekly, or monthly. Read more

  • Lookup Field for Task Layouts
This update enables users to associate the fields from the project module with tasks. This works for both default as well as custom fields. Read more

  • Relative Date Range in Custom Views
Zoho Projects now supports a relative date range when creating or editing a custom view using any date field for criteria. Users can select either start and end date or relative date range for both default and custom date fields.

  • Client Company renamed to Customers
To make the module name "Client Company" more specific and intuitive, it is renamed to "Customers". Read more

  • Sync Preferences for Zoho Books and Invoice integrations
The enhanced Sync preferences for Zoho Books and Zoho Invoice integrations enables users to view synced field details across Projects, Tasks, Issues, Timesheets, & Users modules. Read more

  • Associate Existing Tasks to Users from the Workload Report
The Workload Report now allows not only tracking workloads but also managing them. Managers can now allot existing tasks to new owners as per their workload or expertise right from the workload timeline. Read more

  • Color Palette for Status
Work status can now be made more categorized and recognizable for users with a full color palette to color-code the Status field across all modules. With more color options, teams can use specific colors to highlight their work progress.

  • Profiles Permissions New UI
Granting access permissions to profiles for authorized actions is made more simple and elaborate with the new Profile Permissions UI. With individual Module, Portal, Fields, Settings, Integrations, and Others permissions, admins and managers can monitor every action and grant access to users with the required profile in the project.
