Avalara Integration To Simplify Tax Calculations

 

We are delighted to inform you that Zoho FSM now allows integration with Zoho Books accounts that have Avalara integration enabled in them. Designed for businesses operating across different regions and jurisdictions, Avalara ensures tax accuracy by factoring in real-time data like product classification, tax rules, and geographical location.

 

Please bear in mind that Zoho FSM does not offer direct integration with Avalara. You can leverage the features of Avalara in your Zoho FSM organization only if the associated Zoho Books organization is integrated with Avalara.

Using Zoho Books' Avalara Integration in Zoho FSM  

There are two ways in which you can use Zoho Books' Avalara integration in Zoho FSM:

 

New Users: While onboarding, choose the Zoho Books organization in which Avalara integration is enabled. All the active Zoho Books accounts linked to the email used for Zoho FSM signup will be listed.

 

Existing Users: Switch to the Zoho Books organization in which Avalara integration is enabled.

How will Avalara be used in Zoho FSM?  

Assign Tax Codes to Services & Parts  

You can assign Tax Codes to individual services and parts in Zoho FSM. These codes help determine how each item should be taxed, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.

Accurate Tax Calculation at Invoicing  

When Avalara is enabled, taxes will be applied only during invoicing, based on:

1. The Tax Code of the service/part
   
2. The customer’s Billing or Shipping Address
   

Note: Taxes will not be applied to Estimates, Work Orders, or Service Appointments.

Flexible Discount Application Options  

You can choose from the following discount settings:

1. I don't give discounts: No discounts applied
   
2. At Transaction Level: Discounts are distributed across all services/parts
   
3. Enable line item level discounts: Apply discounts only to specific line items with the new Apply Discount column
