What does this page cover
Learn how to configure Jira within Zoho QEngine, associate QEngine projects with Jira projects, and manage the integration. Before you begin, it's essential to understand how the Jira integration works.
Availability
To connect Zoho QEngine to Jira, you need a Jira account and an API token generated from your Atlassian account.
Create a Jira account: A Jira account with access to an Atlassian site. If you haven't created a Jira workspace, navigate to Jira to create one.
Generate API token : Generate an API token from your Atlassian account. For steps to generate or retrieve your API token, refer to Atlassian's help guide.
Note: Only super admin can configure the integration.
Note: You can't connect the same portal to more than one Jira or Zoho Sprints workspace at a time. If a connection already exists, you'll need to remove it before setting up a new one. This associates the first Jira project with your Zoho QEngine portal. To associate more projects later, see Associate projects with Jira
You can perform the following actions once you've connected your Zoho QEngine portal with Jira.
Note: Super admin, admin, and manager can associate QEngine projects with Jira projects. When you configure the integration, you link one QEngine project with a Jira project. To associate more projects with Jira, follow these steps:
Note:
Note: If a project association appears inactive, the linked project in the connected Jira site has been archived. To re-enable the integration, activate the project in Jira.Alternatively, you can associate projects from within the Setup inside the home page.
Note: Only super admins and admins can associate a project from the Setup page.To disconnect a Zoho QEngine project from a Jira project:
Note: Removing the association revokes your permissions to report bugs to the associated Jira project. The status of existing bugs will no longer be visible in Zoho QEngine but will remain accessible in Jira. Reconnecting the same Jira project later won't auto-sync previously reported bugs.Alternatively, you can remove the project association from the Setup page in Home.
Note: Only super admins and admins can remove a project association from the Setup page. The Jira card enables you to view, edit, disconnect, disable, and enable the integration. Only super admin can perform these actions from the Jira card within Setup.
Edit your Jira integration if your Jira API token expires or becomes invalid. Reconnecting the integration requires a new token. Learn how to generate Jira API token
You can disconnect the integration with Jira if you no longer want to stay connected to that Jira site.
Note: Disconnecting removes the portal's integration with Jira, so you'll no longer be able to report bugs to Jira from Zoho QEngine. Existing linked bugs won't be visible in QEngine but remain available in Jira. Reconnecting your Jira site later won't auto-sync older bugs. You can temporarily disable the Jira integration without fully disconnecting it. This is useful when you want to pause bug reporting during a Jira maintenance window, or while reviewing your project setup, without losing your saved credentials and project associations.
Once disabled, users cannot report a bug or associate a project. To resume the integration, click Enable on the Jira card.
