Across every recruitment process, candidates are assessed by multiple stakeholders—recruiters, interviewers, hiring managers, and clients. These evaluations influence hiring decisions, yet they often exist in silos across assessments, emails, or interview records.
The Reviews sub-module brings all candidate evaluations into a centralized, structured format. Each review is recorded as a standalone entry that captures who reviewed the candidate, what type of evaluation it was, and the context behind it.
This allows recruitment teams to:
- Maintain a complete history of candidate evaluations
- Organize feedback based on the source and assessment type
- Quickly access reviews from candidate, interview, or job opening records
- Improve collaboration and transparency across decision-makers
Who can use the Reviews sub-module
The sub-module is:
- Available across all plans of Zoho Recruit
- Supported in both the Staffing Agency and Corporate HR editions
Understanding Review Sources: Why context matters
Not all reviews are equal—and understanding who provided feedback and in what context is critical to interpreting the candidate’s suitability for a role.
Zoho Recruit addresses this by assigning every review a Review Source—a system-defined identifier that helps categorize the evaluation and link it to the appropriate assessment type.
The five primary Review Sources are:
(1) Answered Assessment
Triggered when a candidate completes a pre-screening assessment sent during the early stages of application.
- How it's generated: Automatically created when a candidate applies for a job that includes an assessment
- What happens next: Once the candidate completes the test, the status updates to Answered. Recruiters can then evaluate responses and submit their review, changing the status to Reviewed
- Assessment type used: Candidate Assessment
- Primary use case: Screening candidates at scale before proceeding to interviews
(2) Recruiter Review
Created when a recruiter manually evaluates a candidate based on their profile or application, or interview responses.
- How it's added: From the Candidates or Applications modules—either via the Rating icon in List View or by navigating to Related List > Ratings & Reviews > Add Review
- Assessment type used: Recruiter's Assessment
- Primary use case: Qualitative recruiter judgment on fit, experience, or potential
(3) Interviewer Review
Generated when an interviewer submits feedback following an interview session.
- How it's submitted: From the Interviews module—via Interview Kit in Quick View or Submit Evaluation in the Detail Page. Interviewers can also use the Interview Feedback form in the client portal
- Assessment type used: Interviewer Assessment
- Primary use case: Documenting technical or role-specific feedback from interviewers
(4) Client Review (Staffing Agency)
Captured when a client submits feedback after reviewing candidate profiles shared by the recruiter.
- How it's submitted: From the Candidate Review Form or through the Client Portal
- Assessment type used: None required
- Primary use case: Captures the client’s evaluation of submitted candidates during the final review stage. Especially relevant in staffing workflows where clients provide the final go/no-go feedback on profiles shared by the agency.
(5) Hiring Manager Review (Corporate HR)
Created when a hiring manager shares feedback on a submitted candidate.
- How it's submitted: Submitted by hiring managers directly from their Zoho Recruit account
- Assessment type used: None required
- Primary use case: Used by internal hiring managers to share feedback on shortlisted candidates. These reviews play a key role in final decision-making and aligning recruitment with departmental expectations.
Streamline reviews with automation
Workflow rules in Zoho Recruit allow you to automate actions based on review activity. For example, if a candidate’s assessment has been marked Answered for over 48 hours without follow-up, you can auto-trigger a reminder email to the recruiter. This ensures timely action on every candidate evaluation and helps prevent bottlenecks in your hiring funnel.
