Profiles and Roles

Zoho Projects has recently introduced Profiles and Roles that lets you define user access privileges and their role in the portal. Some projects require specific users to perform certain actions, while the others cannot work on it due to some restrictions or other privacy concerns. In this case, Profiles and Roles will help you sail smooth.

With more customizing options available, you can set up multiple user roles such as Manager, Employee etc., and customize access privileges in the user profile, e.g. the user can only view but cannot edit tasks. After setting up user roles and profiles, when you add a new user you can assign a role and profile with the customized permissions. However, a user’s role is the same across all the projects, while the user profile can be specifically customized for individual projects.

Task Inline Editing Enhancement
Hi All, Today, we have made an enhancement in task inline editing. In 4.0, task edit is moved in a single screen in a pop-up. We designed this in-order to make the task edit across the product to be the same. Let it be in Feeds, Tasks & My Tasks tab, Calendar & My Calendar tab, a click on the task title will open the popup and user can edit the values. Customers pointed us the inline editing was very useful to them & how much they miss that in 4.0. Based on the feedback, we have rolled out this enhancement.
