Hello,
I posted this via feedback but thought I should also post it here.
I would like to see task notes / progress tracking functionality added to tasks - this tracking could also be linked to timesheet entry saving the user from having to enter details twice.
Here is an example... I create a task... work on it on/off for a few days to get it completed. Every time I work on the task I log my work using the timesheet function. This information is not linked to the task (at least not in a way that easily allows me to view the history) all I can do is complete the task/change a # and move on.
Here is how I see it working in a much more functional way.
I create a task and enter an approximate amount of time for the task... as I work on the task I enter notes in the task area/ time spent (billable or not) and can even link my progress/notes to documents stored.
This allows me to show exactly what I did to complete the task (history for me or my boss to review in the future if need be) and to log the time associated with the task at the same time. I can also see if I have gone over the alotted time.
The major benefit is to show in real time a task status and history. If a task was completed - how it was done, and how much time it took.
As a project manager I can drill down into my teams tasks and find out via the history what issues they encountered, how they were solved, and how long the task took overall (this would be an amazing tool to monitor projects and time spent in real time to ensure the is no overage and if there is I can adjust the schedule / inform the client as needed).
One other amazing feature would be to make all of the task notes/progress searchable for my team potentially eliminating the need for a task to be completed multiple times (allwoing other team members to learn from previous mistakes). I'm sure we can all relate.
Thank you in advance to Zoho for creating such amazing software - I look forward to your feedback and seeing this request become a reality.
x
