Things that'd be nice to Zoho Project that I use on Jira

Hi!

I'm a software manager and I use Jira for manage a backlog of new features for my products (we use scrum to control release some new features) and I also manage a support team that handle tickets (we use kanban to control e release bugFixes).

Jira is great but too expensive for my current number of employees so I'm considering Zoho Project as an alternative.

I've been using Zoho Project for 2 days and below I'll write what I miss on it and would be nice to have:

1) On Issue page, the released issues(I've created a milestone called "Release X" and associated some issues) are showed unless you filter issues that arent associated with any milestone. I belive this should be automaticaly. On Jira, when you release some issues, they are archived and arent showed on Kanban anymore. It's boring have to set filters to get what I want, see and focus on the issues that need attention.

2) It's weird to associate an unfinished issue to a milestone and then set this milestone as "done". The issue doesnt change it's status. I belive the system should ask user whether he wants it setted from unfinished to "done".

3) On Issue detail page, on Resolution tab, if you set the status as "Done" and save it, it'll show the save message but when you back to the board, that issue is still on the same lane... it doesnt update the board to show the issue on the right lane.

4) On Milestone page, when you open a milestone detail, on "release note" tab, you cannot edit(add text) the description. If you click on the selectBox option "Text without formatting", It opens the textarea to edit it but there is no "save" button.

5) On Tasks page, we have the same problem as Item1). The finished tasks are still showed and you have to create filters to vanish them from default view. It would be nice to "release" it or "archive" them because a finished task doesnt need to be always showed in the default view.

6) On Tasks page, it would be nice to associate lanes to status. Like, a lane called "Backlog" should have only open tasks. A lane called "Done" will automaticaly set to "done/closed" all tasks dragged into it.

7) On Wiki page, its very limited/ugly. I cant share pages to external public too. Its always asking login/pass. Its not user friendly and has only a few options and customizations. The Edit mode has a lot of bugs.

That's it for now.

I will try Timesheet feature to see if its handy because I need to control employees estimatives and work log. I'll let you know about it soon.

Task Inline Editing Enhancement
Hi All, Today, we have made an enhancement in task inline editing. In 4.0, task edit is moved in a single screen in a pop-up. We designed this in-order to make the task edit across the product to be the same. Let it be in Feeds, Tasks & My Tasks tab, Calendar & My Calendar tab, a click on the task title will open the popup and user can edit the values. Customers pointed us the inline editing was very useful to them & how much they miss that in 4.0. Based on the feedback, we have rolled out this enhancement.
