Email has come a long way from being a simple communication tool to an effective work management product. Zoho Projects lets you perform several actions such as: add tasks, comment on tasks and other project activities, post replies to forums and add documents to folders right from your email.
Our focus today is on adding tasks to your projects. You will need the task email alias to add tasks to your project. Navigate to
Project > Dashboard and click
. Copy the email alias under
To Add Task.
The components of the email are added as task parameters. The subject line is the task title. The content of the email is added as the task description. That's not all. You can also set priority to your tasks and add start and end dates.
To set the priority in your task use '!' in your subject - Low priority - ! , Medium Priority - !! and High Priority - !!! . Enter the Start and end dates inside square parentheses [mm-dd-yyyy ]. You can also mention the task duration instead of an end date. [8d] will set the end date 8 days after the start date. Assign tasks to users by adding them in 'cc'.
Eg: The subject line !!!Backup Project Data[04-14-2018][04-15-2018] will add the task titled Backup Project Data starting on 14th April 2018 and ending on 15th April 2018 with the highest priority. Email content is added as a task description automatically. Task will be assigned to users mentioned in 'cc'.
